Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Tay-Law website ("Site"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this Site.

No Attorney-Client Relationship

Use of this Site, including submission of information through contact forms, interview forms, intake questionnaires, or use of any tools, does not create a full attorney-client relationship between you and The Law Office of John Taylor. A formal attorney-client relationship is established only through a signed engagement agreement.

However, a person who consults with this office about the possibility of forming a client-lawyer relationship — including by submitting an interview or intake form — may be considered a prospective client under Massachusetts Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18. As a result, this office owes a duty of confidentiality with respect to information disclosed during that consultation, even if no engagement follows. This office will not use or disclose information shared by a prospective client except as permitted by the Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct.

Prospective client status is not the same as a full attorney-client relationship. It does not obligate this office to accept your case, provide legal advice, or take any action on your behalf.

Interview Forms and Intake Questionnaires

This Site provides interview forms and intake questionnaires that may be completed before or after a consultation. These forms are used to gather information to help prepare for a consultation or evaluate potential representation. The following terms apply to all such forms.

• Prospective client status and confidentiality

  Submitting an interview or intake form may constitute a consultation under Massachusetts Rule of Professional Conduct 1.18, which means you may be considered a prospective client. Even if no engagement follows, this office will hold in confidence the information you disclose and will not use it against your interests, consistent with Rule 1.18. This duty of confidentiality exists regardless of how brief the interaction is or whether representation is ultimately accepted.

• Not a full attorney-client relationship

  Prospective client status under Rule 1.18 is not the same as a full attorney-client relationship. Completing an interview or intake form does not create an attorney-client relationship, does not entitle you to legal advice, and does not obligate this office to take any action on your behalf. A formal attorney-client relationship is established only through a signed engagement agreement.

• No obligation to accept representation

  Completing an interview or intake form does not obligate The Law Office of John Taylor to accept your case, schedule a consultation, or provide legal services of any kind. Submission of a form is a request for evaluation only.

• Accuracy is your responsibility

  Any assessment, follow-up, or consultation preparation by this office is based solely on the information you provide. If that information is inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading, any resulting evaluation or guidance may not be appropriate for your actual situation. This office assumes no liability for assessments made in reliance on information later found to be incorrect.

• Statute of limitations not tolled

  Submitting an interview or intake form does not stop, pause, or otherwise toll any applicable statute of limitations, filing deadline, or other legal deadline affecting your matter. You remain responsible for identifying and meeting all applicable deadlines.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Law Office of John Taylor, its attorney, and any affiliated parties shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or inability to use this Site
• Any errors or omissions in Site content
• Any reliance on information or tool outputs provided on this Site
• Any assessment or evaluation made in reliance on information submitted through an interview or intake form
• Any missed deadline or legal consequence arising from delay in establishing an attorney-client relationship
• Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers or your personal information
